Capers
The caper is the immature bud from the Capparis spinosa plant or “Caper Bush” that is native to western Asia and Mediterranean regions. The buds are pickled in vinegar or preserved with salt and provide a pungent, briny flavour similar to the combination of mustard and pepper. best used for: Adding to sauces and marinades, as a condiment or in salads.
